RIAPP is excited to announce the launch of our first psychodynamic book club. This club will provide an opportunity to explore and contemplate psychoanalytic ideas, share unique perspectives, self-reflect, and build community with other like-minded RIAPP members. While RIAPP is hosting the club, we see it as a co-constructed space rather than one led or facilitated by a single individual.
For the spring season, will be reading Psychoanalysis Under Occupation: Practicing Resistance in Palestine by Lara Sheehi and Stephen Sheehi (2022), a contemporary psychoanalytic text exploring the experience of Palestinian clinicians and their patients.
The book club will meet once a month on the following 3 Wednesdays from 7:30-9:00 PM: February 18, March 18, April 22, and May 20. We ask that those who sign up commit to attending all 3 meetings. Private location in Providence, RI will be shared with those who register.
The group will be limited to 15 members and registration will close once that number is reached or no later than February 6 so make sure to sign up soon if you are interested.
Please note, you must be a 2025-2026 RIAPP member to participate.
